Originally a native New Yorker, Tom draws
from his past experiences with the Manhattan
equestrian crowd, and from old gypsies he met on
the road while traveling to shows around the countryside.
The ambience of the islands
is apparent throughout Tom's unique works, such
as his Mocko Jumbie, the colorful and magical
stilt dancers – the “healing spirits”
of the islands.
Tom has lived on St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands
since 1978. Tom and his partner Debby enjoy the local
Crucian culture, art, music, and cooking, surrounded by island bliss and their three
dogs and cats. They are ocean lovers who frequently dive in the sparkling Caribbean sea. When not creating his beautiful jewelry, Tom plays a variety of musical instruments, and can often be found playing piano at restaurants around the island.
